The Lady Tarpons volleyball team is set to serve up another thrilling season as they match up at The Poundfest three day tournament at McAllen Memorial High School. Following last year’s run, the team is eager to build on their success and take their game to new heights.

On day one of the Poundfest the Lady Tarpons took on McAllen Memorial in game one. In game two they went up against Sharyland High and PSJA High in game three. The team struggled through tough matches but demonstrated they have the grit and determination to beat their competition.

“We had a tough time today, but it was good to face some fire,” said Johvonne Hernandez Howard, Lady Tarpons Head Coach. “In the whole tournament we are the only 4A team in the field.”

Led by Coach Johvonne Hernandez Howard, the team boasts a strong lineup of experienced players and promising newcomers, all ready to showcase their skills and teamwork on the court. With rigorous training and a renewed focus on strategy, the Lady Tarpons are poised to make this season their best yet.

Fans, families, and the community are invited to come out and support the team as they embark on what promises to be an exciting journey. The first home game is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 PM against Raymondville in the Port Isabel High gymnasium.
