City beaches are open, be cautious of high-tides, rip currents

The City of South Padre Island is asking all beachgoers to be cautious of high-tides and rip currents.
According to a the city’s Facebook post, “Even though Hurricane Laura did not directly impact South Padre Island, please be cautious if going to the beach as there are high-tides and strong rip currents.”
Also, many City beach access mobi mats have been displaced from the high-tides, and the Shoreline staff is addressing the mobi-mats and any debris that may have washed up.
