SPI waterline repairs needed
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — The Laguna Madre Water District estimates time for completion to repair water pipes damaged will be repaired at approximately 10:30 p.m. tonight or earlier, according to a Island press release.
Island officials reported, at approximately 3:30 p.m. today, a contractor replacing a fire
hydrant along the Padre Boulevard Frontage Road struck a water pipe causing the northbound left lane to be submerged. The Laguna Madre Water District was on scene addressing the issue.
Accorging to the release, the entire Island may be without water until the repair of the leak is fixed.
The public is asked to conserve water during this outage.
The City will provide updates as more information becomes available.
